Road Closure caused by land/rockslides at Sitio Banquero , Brgy. Pancian, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte
Due to the road closure caused by land/rockslides at Sitio Banquero , Brgy. Pancian, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte as supported by DPWH Region 1 advisories issued since September 10, 2022 up to present, the Local Government Unit of Claveria thru Hon. Lucille Angelus Guillen-Yapo tried to arrange and formulate ways to help stranded individuals, commuters and students in their plight.
In addition, Mayor Yapo coordinated and consulted with Philippine Coast Guard- Claveria Station thru Mr. Webster Columna for possible transport services via sea travel but because of Typhoon Inday, as per Coast Guard’s advice, limitations and risks of sea travel make it difficult to arrange and schedule regular interventions.
We truly understand the importance of education as this is one of the priority sectors of the LGU, however, to give priority to the lives and safety of our constituents, we encourage everyone most especially the students who are planning to travel via boat/sea travel to coordinate and comply with the requirements set by the Philippine Coast Guard’s Office before doing so.
Again, we reiterate our concern to our constituents’ lives and safety.
