Distributed 6,000 dwarf coconut seedlings to coconut farmers of the municipality
The Local Government Unit of Claveria headed by its very active Local Chief Executive Hon. Lucille Angelus Guillen-Yapo in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority R02 distributed 6,000 dwarf coconut seedlings to coconut farmers of the municipality. Dwarf Coconut tree is a short stature variety of coconut which is mostly self-pollinated, and have fewer variations compared to Tall varieties. Dwarf varieties have shorter economic lives than tall variety and only live up to 60 years old. With smaller fronds, more Dwarf coconut trees can be planted per hectare of land.
Municipal Mayor Lucille Angelus Guillen-Yapo expressed her gratitude during the distribution. She also emphasized that coconut farmers in the municipality should embrace the benefits what PCA is giving and should aim to be the No. 1 coconut producing municipality in the Province.
